2003 - Photo Gallery

Ever since my introduction to photography I have been fascinated by the process. The simple act of pressing the button to catch a moment for posterity. There a so many ways to present unique ideas with a single scene. I like to see how we can influence the focus of the image simply by adjusting the angle, depth of field and context.

The following images have been selected from various galleries and act as an evolving exhibition of my photographic document of life.

Taken in my parents garden, this exotic looking thistle is made even more impressive with the setting sun casting long beams through the stems. Taken in black and white, this image is unaltered, keeping its original beauty.

Rosie
Rosie
I remember this photo, it was during a long walk around Wellingtons South coast from Seatoun to Kilbirnie. A long the way is a large pile of boulders that act as a memorial for the Wahine (I think). This was on top of that pile. A simple, unaltered image.

Opposates Attract
Opposates Attract

A simple negative of an image taken in central Wellington. I used a 24mm wide angle lense and got in close to the base of the church to capture the two buildings in parallel. I like the way the two buildings support one another and contradict each other.
