Visualizing Networks
The internet or world wide web is awash with data (and occasionally, information). The value of data is as information (which I think of as data in context). There are an exciting array of tools out there ro turning data into information.
Here is a visualization of my facebook network (the full view shoes how the various nodes are interconnected when cross relationships exist between friends).
The phenominon of publicly accessable private data is a huge thing, the implications of which are far from being fully realised.
I live in fear of the day when the machines evaluate individuals based on the multi faceted, time shifted and personality offset digital shaddow.
